This years "TOYS for Tots"   Senior Softball Tournament at the
Pompano Softball Fourplex was an amazing outpouring of generosity
and human kindness .........   AS the players of each respective team arrived they first dropped off a new TOY for the  "TOY for TOTS"  box that was placed at the entrance of the softball fields and was manned by real life "Santas"     (George Deeb, Roger Widden, Manny Aneson, Lenny Bizzarro, Jeff Schrier)
On this sunny Saturday morning it was really hard to see the "SENIOR" in these generous souls who took time out of their busy lives to donate a toy or two to help make some childs Christmas this year a Merry one........
Once the games began these players ran,hit and caught balls that perhaps on other Saturday mornings they might not have caught. I wondered if they too were "kids" again??.....       As I thought about this Holiday season, I recalled a passage from the Psalms: which says "the people who walked
"in darkness have seen a great light".......
If we were to wonder about all of the lights that we now see decorating some homes throughout the world we would ask why do these people decorate
with lights?....................        I would say that if I was walking into the Pompano Softball fourplex and if I was in a sense of  darkness mood I too would have " seen a great light"!!   The kind of light that brightens ones day and changes ones mood and spirit.......   Although there was no snow I did see some of these Seniors slide and I saw the softballs as snowballs.......
The Toys will now be heading to the United States Marine Corps Recruiting Sub Station in West Palm Beach and Sgt. Ramon Martinez and Sgt. James Murphy will receive them and they will most  likely ask "Chaplain Cesar
"Where did all of these Toys come from?" and I will gladly  answer
"I ran into a very generous bunch of  santas that were playing softball in Pompano and they sent these toys to you  and by the way just like you these Senior Softball players are  very Proud and very FEW"...........
SEMPER FI which means always faithful, and how true it was
today Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at the Softball complex in Pompano.
These Senior Softball players were Faithful and behalf of the United States Marine Corps and myself and all of the children that will be
receiving these toys we are all THANKFUL and may God who is our GREAT light shine amongst us all and may he light the way for
a peaceful and a Merry Christmas....
